[MISSION]
How we got here and what we believe.
We started Desync in 2024 for a very different reason than what it is today. We wanted to help surface and consolidate insights on companies going through diligence. By the end of that year we realized our strongest forte was our ability to gather data. In 2025 we became an API to the internet, building scrapers and crawlers. By late 2025 we realized we're way better at data processing than we ever were at scraping. Our most requested dataset? Notre Dame alumni. People reached out for all kinds of reasons: reconnecting, research, outreach. That demand shaped our direction. We built the Church and school datasets next, saw how underserved the Catholic vector really is, and decided to pursue it at full intensity. We have not looked back.
We all went to Notre Dame. Catholicism played a role in shaping who we are. When we saw the need for better Catholic data infrastructure, it wasn't just a business opportunity, it was personal. The institutions, the networks, the communities. We understand them because we came from them.
Inspired by the Automattic Creed, we wrote our own.
We will never stop learning. We won't just work on things that are assigned to us. We work together on all hard problems. No one was born a CEO, CTO, or any fancy title. We call each other co-founders because it would be impossible to do this without one of us. We are thankful for the mentors who helped us behind closed doors, the ones who gave us time when they didn't have to. Nobody handed us anything. We fight for our place.
We've failed before, numerous times. Those times taught us lessons that won't be repeated. We are more motivated by impact than money. We'd rather work privately with customers to whom we make a difference than chase thousands who don't care. Given time, there is no problem that's insurmountable or out-code-able. We're in a marathon, not a sprint.
We refuse work with anything defense-related or anything that places harm on another human being. Physical or mental, it does not matter. We dislike attention. We prefer to let the work speak. Mistakes that cost us cash? Fine. Mistakes that cost us the respect of one another? Never.
Surface opportunities and connect people of like-mindedness through the Catholic Church. As people, we have few true friends, not thousands. We believe most people are the same. The data we process isn't rows in a database. It's the foundation for real connections between real people. We want to grow into our roles. We will make mistakes. We're committed to learning from every single one.
We hope to help every customer that comes to us with a need to connect to the Catholic Church. But we are also human. Without our health, we cannot help anyone. If we can't, we won't.
